Sound long-term investments

Transparent Growth Partnership

We believe in treating everyone with respect and responsibility.

This includes owners, society, and employees connected to our businesses. We use our knowledge and skills carefully when looking at opportunities to buy other companies.

Our focus is on finding local, medium-sized companies that care about making great products and managing things well, just like we do. If a company is facing challenges and needs help to keep going, we’re ready to make an offer to buy it.

We promise to be honest and clear in our offer, and we would be honored to take on the responsibility ourselves. We’re committed to being transparent, professional, honest, and respectful in all our dealings.

This guides us every step of the way as we work with businesses that are ready to grow and make positive changes.

Commercial Real Estate

The Holm family aims to grow, enhance, and manage commercial real estate. They put their focus on grocery-anchored shopping centers in the Southeast USA and Northern Germany, as well as multi-family residential spaces. Their game plan involves long-term investments, with the longest commitment stretching up to 40 years.

The key to their success lies in close partnerships with local developers, making sure that their ventures are grounded in trust and collaboration.

Farming and Forestry

Preserving land is our enduring commitment. The Holm family has owned German forest and agricultural land since the early 20th century, seeing it as stewardship.

In forestry, we focus on generative practices, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (PEFC). This includes harvesting single trees, sometimes with horses, leaving the rest standing. Our aim is natural mixed-tree forests, balancing animals and the ecosystem.

In agriculture, sustainability is our key. Crop rotations like wheat, rapeseed, barley, corn, and beans ensure maximum sustainability. Our commitment extends to re-naturalization initiatives, like the “Lachsbach” creek project, which turns fields into ecological areas for vegetation, insects, and fauna.

We also build hedges against soil erosion, providing habitat for birds and animals.

Local Food Companies

Our dedication lies in bringing you the best food – think slow, artisan, premium quality, and nutrition.

With a rich history of over 60 years in food production, we view company ownership as a form of stewardship. It’s about looking out for our local employees, suppliers, community, and customers.

We believe in the saying “you are what you eat,” and that’s why our focus is on providing food that’s not just a meal but a wholesome experience, ensuring that every bite reflects our commitment to quality and care.

Envision slow, artisanal, premium quality, and nutrition. Connect with us to be a part of this.

Bliestorf forestry
In 1999, the Holm family took over Bliestorf forestry, caring for it with dedication. Led by Dr. Christian Holm, they focus on sustainable wood use, harvesting 5 cubic meters per hectare yearly. The forest, rich in economic and ecological value, is managed responsibly with initiatives like deadwood protection. The family remains steadfast in preserving this natural treasure amid changing demands and climate challenges.

Bandorf forest
The Bandorf forest is more than just trees; it’s a vibrant haven for diverse plants and animals. It serves as a crucial production site for raw materials and food, supporting numerous livelihoods. Beyond its economic role, the forest provides a meaningful workplace for many, intertwining nature with human activity. Moreover, it stands as a cherished place of recreation, offering solace and enjoyment for all who appreciate its natural beauty. The Bandorf forest is a multifaceted gem, contributing to ecological balance, economic sustainability, and the well-being of its community.

Bempflinger Lebensmittel GmbH
Back in 1946, the Dr. Peikert and Langer families arrived in Bempflingen as refugees. They started a special business, turning sugar beets into yummy syrup. This not only tasted great but also made sure they could keep going. Then, in 1950, the “real” Bempflinger company era began.
As time went on, the company changed with the world around it. They made customers happy and gave people what they needed. In the 1970s, Schwartau took over the company, and Werner Holm was a big part of that.

Nowadays, Bempflinger Lebensmittel GmbH is all about tradition, new ideas, and a super team of over 130 workers. Every day, they work really hard to make customers happy. They come up with cool ideas and create products that fit what people like now.In 2007, Werner Holm took charge and saw the potential in pasta sauces. Then in 2013, Mirko Sattler joined as the boss, using his smarts to make the company even better. He’s been the main partner since 2014. In 2022, Katrin Holm took over her husband’s part, making sure the family business keeps going strong and looking ahead with excitement.
